Hello! Hola! My name is Oscar, a seasoned hospitality expert, bringing 25 + years of experience. Specializing in product strategy, marketing, branding, distribution, sales, and revenue management.
Born and raised on the Balearic Island of Majorca, Spain, my professional journey began over 25 years ago when I began working for the Forte Hotel Group in the UK, before leaving for the Americas to work for Barceló Hotels & Resorts. Within the 13 years I worked there, Barceló allowed me to develop my professional skills in a range of different roles, primarily as Managing Director of Sales & Marketing, leading a portfolio of 25 properties across the Americas region.
My professional development then presented me with a new challenge, at newly created joint venture – Ocean by H10 Hotels, where I was appointed VP of Global Sales & Marketing. The experience allowed me to create, develop and implement brand, product, services, work teams, distribution, revenue and sales and marketing strategies – a successful journey which lasted 10 years.
I then joined CanaBay Hotels & Residences, where I was responsible for the sales, marketing, and distribution strategy for the group as Chief Commercial Officer. During my tenure, I focused on the development of mixed-use condo-hotel assets in the Americas, giving me the opportunity to learn about the dynamics of vacation rentals from a hospitality industry perspective.
In late 2019, I was offered the position of Vice President of Sales & Marketing for Transat’s Hotel Division in the Americas, leading the distribution strategy, brand experience, sales, marketing and revenue.
In November 2021 I was appointed UMusic Hotels Senior Vice President Sales & Marketing, where I am responsible for the performance of the brand both in the Americas and globally. UMusic Hotels, Universal Music Group Hotel Division, is a new global collection of immersive hotels and experiences inspired by music. UMusic Hotels will create unique experiences for fans, guests, and artists alike, with music and entertainment at the forefront of design and guest experience all around the globe.
Always ahead of hospitality trends, I like to stay up to date on digital marketing, social media, revenue management and data analytics, and hold a Degree in Revenue Management & Big Data from the Universidad Rey Juan Carlos. I also studied Business & Tourism at the University of the Balearic Islands (UIB), Marketing for Tourism in the University of the West of England as well as Data Analytics and Revenue Management at Cornell School of Hotel Administration.
Although originally from Majorca, Spain, I continue to make the Americas my home and place of work.
